At any rate, I’m reprising this idea once more to see if anyone cares a bit about my attempt to share out Spotify playlists. I figured that if I gave the old tried and true “linkbait” method a shot, I might see a bit more success.
Actually, it’s a bit of serendipity that I came across it. I loaded up Spotify this morning, and it told me that I should connect my Facebook account to it. Somehow, I’d missed this option every other time I’ve loaded the program. I went ahead and did it, and it gave me the ability to look at my friends and see what their favorite music was. Since I was hard-up for some new music (between me wearing out the XBox controllers on my 360, and listening to my previous mix on repeat, I’m a bit tired of 1920’s pop/jazz at the moment), I decided to put one together based on the favorites of my friends.
I’m tempted to talk out of school about the interesting musical proclivities of my friends here – just from reading the blogs of many of these people, their musical tastes are not what you’d expect in some cases. In other cases, they’re exactly what you’d expect.
At any rate, I like this mix, because it’s a good potpourri of unique musical styles, yet it still seems to work together, starting off a little esoteric, and ending up in the mainstream. Sorta representative of the identity of this group of people.
